Plug and play. It is automatic in that it will fully charge your batteries and then go into a gentle rejuvenation mode at the end. It will remain in that state unless discharged. Customers must periodically allow their batteries to be fully charged once a week for an hour or more for this benefit. This will not overcharge your batteries if they are the standard flooded lead-acid kind. These charger/controllers will work in series with the batteries and panels. They will work with regular inverters and other equipment so long as there is no voltage limiting circuitry involved as there is in some equipment. The pulsing is gentle so that it should not harm other electronics.
